This project is now completed. The Community Food Initiative is a healthy eating programme funded by SAFEFOOD. The Programme runs over a three year cycle and it provides people with the knowledge and skills to provide healthy food options for themselves and their families. NACN’s CFI is delivered across the Mid Glens area.
The Lunch and Snack Box Ideas Workshops
Some participants in our Lunch and Snack Box Ideas Workshops receive their packs of ingredients and store cupboard essentials. The Lunch and Snack Box Ideas Workshops were delivered by Northern Health and Social Care Trust dieticians in partnership with Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council environmental department and FareShare Northern Ireland. The workshops were part of the Community Food Initiatives programme and funded by Safefood, and managed by Secade. The NICHI Project which organised the workshops is funded by the Public Health Agency NI. The feedback we have received from these workshops shows the amazing interest which families have in good nutrition for their little ones
