Northern Area Community Network is one of six providers that have been awarded this contract to offer local community development support and advisory services. Recognizing the importance of supporting community development in rural regions, DAERA has been actively funding rural community development initiatives through its Tackling Rural Poverty and Social Isolation Framework.
The objectives of the Rural Community Development Support Service include:
● Ensuring comprehensive regional coverage and local provision of rural community development support throughout Northern Ireland.
● Assisting individuals and communities in rural areas to enhance their economic and social sustainability.
● Providing support to rural communities, local authorities, and other relevant stakeholders amidst the restructuring of local government and the reorganisation of public policy and service delivery.
